Tried Inherent Vice last night, only my second time since the theater. Really didn't like it then. Found much more to enjoy last night, but about halfway through I was still totally lost so I turned it off.

I think the convoluted plot would be easier to discern if you could actually hear all of Joaquin's dialogue, but it's pretty tough at times.

I suspect I could grow to love this movie after 3-4 more viewings.

that scene and several others from THAT MOVIE crack me up.. you know what? Thanks trag, I had forgotten I OWNED this on amazon and I'm gonna give it a watch now. Been a long time and my wife hates it every time I try to make her watch it. So I'm gonna watch it here at work. With subtitles.

I guess his next one is gonna be another Pynchon adaptation? Vineland? Plot sounds somewhat similar but set against the Reagan era in northern CA.

Just finished it. It makes perfect sense why this movie isn't very popular. It's perfectly its own thing. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's not for everyone. Not even me when I'm in the wrong mood. Right mood this time and it's great.

I really think it helps if you read the subtitles and at least try to follow the plot

Trag, use a waffle maker. Wayyy quicker, more convenient and even tastier, when you add in the recommended tbsp of Olive Oil and melt on some butter

Seems like that time of year again for a PTA ranking. Here's how I currently feel:

1. There Will Be Blood
2. Punch Drunk Love
3. Licorice Pizza
4. Boogie Nights
5. Phantom Thread
6. Inherent Vice
7. Magnolia
8. The Master

Still haven't seen Hard Eight.

1 through 6 are interchangeable, depending upon my mood at a given time, in a given moment of space and time
