Supposedly they’re doing the new Scream as if the last two were actually Gail Weathers novels, and Dewey is still alive. Hopefully it’s true, that would be the best thing for the series.

Immaculate was great. Love Lies Bleeding was also great, one of the best films of the year so far. It has several horror elements, same director of Saint Maud.

Watched the Burning for the first time in years. This is one of those movies that was a little hard to find on video and DVD back in the day and its rep benefitted from scarcity. The effects are better than average and its fun to see George Costanza and the fake Indian guy from Short Circuit, but if I'm gonna watch a summer camp themed horror movie I'm gonna watch an early Friday or Sleepaway Camp. Great soundtrack though.
Awww, The Burning <3, along with Without Warning, it start my love for b movies. Xtro and Deadly Spawn are some of my favorites as well.

I really want to see both, LLB is premiering next week and Immaculate in a few weeks too. Very exited.

nonsensical garbage that squanders every opportunity to say something interesting with a top shelf premise
Yep. What a disappointment.
I'm absolutely 100% all for a movie that stretches a thin premise over a feature length runtime; trust me, I am ALWAYS defending these movies (loved Skinamarink to death, even though critics were saying "should've been a short movie", never mind that it already was, called HECK); but I genuinely thought that they should have reduced this thing to the (great) segment with the possessed girl, and cut everything else including the "backstage" nonsense and the documentary wraparound; call that segment part of a recovered lost tape otherwise recorded over (maybe even show some of what was recorded, even if it was completely random and unrelated; could've been an interesting juxtaposition); basically, leave *something* to the imagination, be vague about the background and context, the emotional impact of the segment itself is enough: this girl is suffering not only from a possession but also from the exploitation of the "mother" / scientist / author studying her, and now a TV show audience; the girl is trapped whatever happens; that's your story imo, that's where the horror and satire here is, everything else doesn't matter
