Ok, maybe not lazy, but unoriginal? Isn't Peter supposed to be extremely intelligent, albeit a bit naïve?
Parker is intelligent but I feel the Holland films are more akin to the Marvel Ultimate version of Spidey where PP just acts more of an adolescent than the legacy PP; from what I recall anyway, which was a few decades ago.

Doesn't it seem kind of lazy to have two straight Spider-Man films where Spidey gets duped by a villian that manipulates time/space/appearances?
Mysterio pretends to be a good guy in one movie and then Mephisto pretends to be a good guy in the next? Fool me once, shame on you. Spiderman ain't gonna get fooled again.

I'm trying to figure out if Spider-Man is home alone defending his home from super villians with improvised traps, or if he's trying to get into Kevin McAllister's house for some reason and gets the shit beat out of him.

I think to satisfy everyone you have to have Spider-Man team up with Kevin to stop criminals. That's probably to obvious and boring but I think that's the way Disney would do it
