pff Zendaya is wonderful
try recasting timothee
she's pretty and charming, but she doesn't display depth or range
timothee shows depth and range
you got the names wrong i guess? Zendaya is the girl!
I don't think he's even close to like, Daniel Day Lewis' level, or Gosling's even, but he's at least as good as most Hollywood actours, including Brad Pitt and Leo DiCaprio.

I'm convinced the fight scene and it's conclusion at the end is the best part of the movie. So well-choreographed and dramatic.
When he grabs the blade with his hand as a last effort defense, and the grunts of agony! AGH! And it calls back to the hand in the box scene, how he must endure unimaginable pain to overcome his obstacles and survive.

I think the issue is Timothee and Zendaya’s acting is too subdued in parts. It contrasts too much with the more over the top performances of say anyone playing a Harkonnen baron or Bene Gesserit priestess or just Javier Bardem.
I suppose maybe young people are chill in any dimension, but until Timothee starts yelling, he just seems like he doesn’t want to be there. The first shot of him in the movie, he’s taking a nap for Chrissakes.

That nap wasn't even in the script. They just went with it because he had fallen asleep again.
