Here, we can find a damning summary of modern Hollywood’s default mode – a nostalgia object, drained of personality and fitted into a dully palatable mold, custom-made for a fandom that worships everything and respects nothing.

Consider the casual cowardice of a script that uses its own mythology to subtly erase 2016’s all-gals reboot from the canon, giving the rage-choked trolls carpet-bombing IMDb with zero-star ratings the vindication they’ve always craved.
I don't understand why some people got so upset that people didn't like that movie. What a weird thing to include in the review.

I guess this is an example of "your focus determines your reality" but I don't know anyone who is upset that people *didn't* like the movie. That's an extremely odd take, to me. But again this could be an echo chamber/bubble type of situation.
So this one was Ghostbusters: The Force Awakens after all.
New characters with no dept, beat by beat moments with the original, cameos from the original movie, easter eggs...basically everything is a setup for making a remake of the original but for kids.
No comedy whatsoever, no funny moments, rushed sequences and a very divise finale for sure.
The looks good tough, the set pieces are great, and it was cool to see those guys again after so fucking long.
i loved Gozer, the ghosts, the demon dogs...i wish we got more of the guys...the kids were so boring. Carrie Coon and Rudd were ok, but i wish we got more of them too....and as a fan of Egon, i dont buy the whole farm thing....its weird he left those guys.

You and I saw different movies. Loved it aside from a slightly spotty third act.
