I built a 2'x8'x14" concrete planter box yesterday. Going to plant some peppers and tomatoes on Wednesday. I'll use the holes on the side of the blocks for herbs and bulbs.

Bought two planters last week, at 4' x 8' x 18". Got the underlying sod out on Saturday, have a small mountain of soil coming later this week. Will plant hearty stuff next weekend. My kid is already fully engaged, talks about "garden garden garden glovies" all the time (we got her a tiny pair of gardening gloves).

Anybody have experience in transplanting asparagus? Seems like a pretty delicate and malleable process, but my main question is: How long does it take for transplants to yield? I'm seeing three years for seedlings, but am getting conflicting info on transplants.

Just picked about 50 limes from our key lime tree and it's only the third year in the ground and only about 4 feet tall. Have another 30 or so that will be ripe in about a week.
Got two 8 oz jars of juice out of the ones picked today.
