I started rewatching Eastbound and Down last week, still funny as hell.

Finished this last night.

Started Vice Principals this afternoon. So far, not enjoying it as much as Gemstones. Enjoying it, yes. Just not as much.

Vice Principals gets better half s1 and absolutely delightful at S2.

Yeah I agree. And the addition of Nash made the show 25% funnier overnight.

But ultimately VP leans just a little too dark at times, and I think it’s the worst of their three HBO projects, despite Goggins brilliance.

We’re watching the Season 1 finale of Vice Principals right now. What fucking assholes. I don’t like these characters at all anymore.

Ah. Yeah I had a similar reaction. I stuck with the show and it got funnier in S2, but it’s a pretty dark turn in that finale.

We’re still liking it. It’s just that after seeing that episode, it’s hard to actually root for them. Well, I never really rooted for Russell, but Gamby seemed like he was actually coming around as a person. Nope. The way Russell keeps complimenting Gamby about all the shit they did to Dr Brown makes me think he’s recording everything somehow for a huge setup of Gamby.

Russell’s interactions with his mother-in-law are some of the best things about the show.

As of right now, Gemstones is far and away our favorite. Still have to do Eastbound after this, tho.

i envy you. eastbound is such a blast. i really like gemstones, by the way. just don't think it's quite at the level of the other two.

About Vice Principals...it really speaks of how good the writing it because i understand Wease not liking these guys, and how that will unfold in season 2.
