I hear that. One of my favorite shows of the last decade was The Young Pope, but I couldn't get half of my friends to even make it past the first episode (which, granted, is really slow). I also think there's a converse force at work, though--there's so much new content being produced and marketed as prestige TV, and a lot of pressure (social etc.) to keep up with a lot of it, that I find myself watching things that, upon reflection, just aren't that good. Also not my fault though.

“I’ll move to Los Angeles and shave my pussy and learn to surf!”
“Why would you shave your pussy?”
“So I can surf faster!”
I love this show.
Oh and Mickey, it totally is Vice Pastors. I think there’s a bit more depth to the story, and it leans a hair more towards drama than comedy, but basically yes.

2 episodes in and based on this thread, I was expecting to laugh a lot more. Love the premise but the only time I've really LOL'd is during the blackmailers' fight in the motel room.
Really hoping that Goggins kicks this up a notch whenever they introduce him.
The thought of bailing on this and trying to find something else is kinda off-putting to me so I'm going to stick with it. Generally speaking, I'm a fan of critiquing (for lack of a better word) organized religion.

Goggins shows in E3 and he does kick it up. Also I'd say it generally gets funnier.

I'm counting on you. Don't let me down. I have precious little TV watching time.
