Based on the reviews I've seen and the comments by those I trust (meaning people whom I adore and respect but with which I tend to disagree -- looking at you here, stip) I fully expect this to be one of my favorite Marvel movies.
The criticisms I've seen have all also been applied to all my personal favorite Marvel movies. So...
Also, the new trailer that I saw before Dune was baller af! The first trailer I saw was luke warm at best. But this "new" trailer... yeah, I'm all in. This thing looks so good.

It's interesting that this is the Marvel movie that has people turning their noses up. To me, all its biggest problems are just MCU problems. It's drab, it's lifeless, it looks like shit, it's loaded with annoying quips. All you need to know about Zhao's direction here is present in how she shot the "Bollywood dance number." Bad movie, but honestly not bottom-tier MCU for me
The premise of the film has some really weird implications, and there is one scene here so ill-conceived, in such poor taste, that I'm sure it rubbed some people the wrong way. Maybe that's it.

The whole concept of the comic was hard to understand at best. And, to me, doesn’t really lend itself to a movie. Especially not in a franchise adored by millions worldwide. The characters were never used in a lot of things and when they got their own title, it never lasted very long. It was just one of those series that never really caught on. I didn’t like either of the books from back in the day and it was hard to even keep the characters straight. I’m not expecting very much from the movie at all. I’m hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but if not, I won’t be shocked. Or even disappointed.

I think the problem is introducing 10 new characters in one movie. I haven't seen it, but my understanding is that it's loaded with exposition and the stakes for the central conflict aren't well laid out.

I’m interested in which scene you meant here.
I thought that was the tamest looking Bollywood dance scene I’ve ever seen?
This movie just made me wonder about celestials in general; they all appear the same here, but Ego was a floating brain that formed a planet around himself and didn’t look all Galactus-y
