It takes place largely in a single location, it eschews the show's traditional structure (ignoring its B story altogether), it's largely dialogue-based, there's no other BCS episode quite like it... I think there's an argument for it

But it plays a major role in the over-arching story. Unique, yes. One-off, no.

See, this was my argument against That's My Dog - Six Feet Under. Apparently, how it affects the over-arching story is only one factor to consider.

I think a better thread would have been "Best / Worst Single TV Episode." That BCS episode is one the highest reviewed TV episodes that I ever came across. I agree it was great, but it's not a one-off as I see it.
