What I do find instructively problematic about this show (other than the laughably slapstick invocations of Lenin or whatever) is how the creator has to keep getting on Twitter to explain to people that this is not a pro-US/anti-Russia show and that all the denialism of the Soviet bureaucracy is supposed to operate as a mirror for Trump/GOP climate denialism/alternative facts/etc. It's such a well-meaning liberal impulse to think that art can operate as a didactic reflector, but none of the Bi_3s of the world watching this are going to rethink their stance on climate change because of this show.

Don't know for sure, but I feel that it's possible that a lot of it is pushback on people who are viewing/framing the show in this fashion. I've certainly seen people tweeting that have taken that perspective on it.

Now what the fuck does this have to with my view on climate change?

HBO hasn't put the episodes all On Demand but they're running the series next weekend. I'll have to add to my dvr so I can watch them the following week.
They're on HBO go which you can use with your cable credentials.

You could just, I don’t know, not go on Twitter. Can’t speak for everyone but my life is certainly much better since I made that choice.

That he desires to get on Twitter in order to correct the record on the essential political implication of his show means that his show lacks, either in part or in full, the implications he thinks it has. This has nothing to do with Twitter as a medium.

“One theory holds that Americans had infiltrated the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and many historians do not deny that, on the day of the explosion, an agent of the enemy’s intelligence services was present at the station,”

I dont really care bout this one, and everyone is like fuuuuck dude you havent seen Chernobyl ???? why??
Its getting tiresome.
Have you watched it yet? If nothing else, the set designs are some of the best I've ever seen. The scale of what they've brought to the screen is really something else.
