I have a microwave, too. Right next to the toaster oven. Hired an electrician to put a new outlet in the pantry and moved both off the kitchen counter into the pantry - life changing.

Which is to say, no, I'm really not that patient in this aspect of life.

What if you just need to melt butter or something similar for just a few seconds? I never eat microwaveable meals, but we use the microwave quite a bit for random things like that.

I miss it for leftovers, b/c reheating leftovers in pans and a toaster over is a pain in the ass.

We have a tiny little pot for melting butter.

I use it to reheat coffee and certain leftovers. Not much else.

Also, I was making plans to better insulate this place. Kind of expensive, but I imagine the benefits will be worth it. Got a call from Mass save yesterday and they are offering 100% coverage of the cost of insulation. Mass save runs via tax that the state uses to then subsidize energy improvements...from what I gather. It doesn't usually cover 100% of the cost, but they've been out of business since March and now have extra funds. What's the catch? They're booked until December.

Yeah, jump on that shit.

Anybody ever have their garage insulated, and able to share thoughts on before/after? Our new garage is hot as balls, which means it's probably not insulated. Curious how much heat we'll lose from the house this winter.

The issue is usually the garage door. Our walls in our garage are insulated. But the door is thin AF and doesn't create any kind of solid seal when it closes. (There are small gaps where you see daylight coming in). I don't know if they make insulated doors that big?

If the electrical and plumbing are already done, finishing a basement should be easy, right? Right??

Ok

Shake as I might, all the pigment ended up at the bottom of the can and now I have to sand down and re-do the last few boards which came out a totally different color

Mrs. Bam made me do the whole thing over. But I’m glad because it looks much better now.

my fence panel and posts arrived from Lowe’s after 14 days of drama to secure and have them delivered

in the covid economy, all Americans transformed into fence panel crazed zombies buying out all Lowe’s stock indefinitely as they update their lockdown backyards

lowe’s online inventory systems prove unreliable and loaded with misinformation regarding available stock as covid-economy depleted employees struggle to maintain discipline in inventory data entry

forcing a young firebrand in need of one single extension panel to conjure all of his telephone cold call skills to connect with the boots on the ground, developing a rapport with local gatekeepers, earning their trust, and after combing through 4 regional lowe’s, locating a single panel stashed amongst the garden section of the 5th, forgotten and uncounted in the official inventory system

the delivery is complete

victory in this battle is mine

but the war is not over

as my vinyl screws have not yet arrived
