If a musician/actor/artist is proven to have done terrible things at some point in their career, is it ok to like their works that were done before they did the horrible things?

For instance (and completely hypothetical), let's say it was proven that the first woman that Bill Cosby raped didn't happen until season 5 of The Cosby Show. Let's say before that, he was – by all accounts – a decent person. Would it be ok to enjoy seasons 1 through 4, and his work prior to the Cosby Show? Or is his entire body of work tainted, even if he didn't solidify himself as a terrible person until 1988?
