I do feel like this gives them a way out of the Majors Dilemma and the opportunity to go in another direction that doesn't require Kang.
They’ve already established that variants don’t have to look like the one that we knew first. The council of Kangs kinda throws some water on that, but it already exists in-universe that it doesn’t have to be Majors

Yeah but if you don’t have Majors and what he brings to the table as an actor, why bother with Kang at all?
