Jim is similar in d*ckishness to Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. I can't remember the character name because I am very dumb.

Jim is a selfish douche. It's there from the first season. He is very mean to Dwight and Michael early on.

But those two are even bigger douches.

But they're presented as such. We're supposed to believe Jim is just a cool, affable guy. Yet he is an as*!

Michael's obliviousness gets a pass occasionally though.

I mean, he’s cooler than those two, but they knock him down a peg plenty too.

I bet in the British version they’re all douches.

I've rewatched the US Office 3 or 4 times now and have to agree - Jim is a total douche-canoe.

And Dwight and Pam's friendship is very sweet indeed.

He is a douche, but I think there’s some redemption for him in the end:

-He aspires to more than a paper company, trying to start his athlete rep business

-His marriage starts to face some real threats

-He reorients himself towards his marriage and Dunder Mifflin, with a newfound commitment to the team

-He and Pam ultimately decide to move to TX for the athlete rep co, but they leave on good terms with everyone, especially Dwight and Angela

He spends much of the show grappling with the idea that he’s somehow better than his colleagues, and capable of more. I think he ultimately lands on the latter, but realizes the former was formed out of vanity.

Great character arc. Is his relationship with Pam the best tv romance of all time?

I like Jim.

My feelings for Pam should be well known at this point.

How would y’all feel about Jim if Krasinski hadn’t squashed him cheating on Pam?

Ben and Leslie > Jim and Pam

And it's not even close.
