I love this season...and i think it goes along with something that i been discussing for a while about this new political correction type of thing thats its everywhere.

Bret Easton Ellis is talking about the same subject pretty much on every podcast of this season, and its very similar with what these guys are saying.

Not really sure what to make of that finale. The "PC is verbal gentrification" line was pretty great, though.

I just saw about the last 4 or so episodes of this season. From when the Whole Foods arrived then through to the end.

OH MY GOD this might be about the funniest stuff I have ever seen on TV. Amazing. I haven't watched South Park for years, but recently I heard about the Yelp episode and then saw the commercial for Cartman and his mom holding each other at gun point, and I had to tune in.

Simply amazing.

Didn't laugh once watching the finale. Not even a chuckle. The whole season was a mixed bag for me. Fun concept but not really that funny most of the time. I really didn't care for the ad-stuff in the last few episodes. A lot of jokes were run into the ground. I started kind of funny but got boring pretty fast.

New season starts tonight. I'm amazed how well Matt & Trey have kept this running.

Last season was their best work imo. PC principal is my idol.

pretty good 'as told by the people involved' article on south park here:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/featur ... one-928212

on the theme song:

Quote:
Les Claypool
The lead singer of Primus composed the show's jangly theme song.

We got a call years ago that these guys were working on this little animated pilot for Comedy Central. They were a couple of college kids who were fans of the band, and I guess they approached me to do the theme song. At the time, Primus had just gotten a new drummer, so I said, "Let's have Primus do it." We had watched their Christmas thing that was going around, and we realized these guys were pretty clever, but there was no way in hell that they were going to be able to get something like that on television. More than anything, it was just an excuse for us to go into the studio and start experimenting.

Stone We wanted Primus to do the theme song, and then we needed a change. And we were like, "F—!"

Claypool If you listen to the outro, that's actually the original song. And they came back to us and said, "Comedy Central thinks the theme song is too slow and not peppy enough." At that point, we were like, "You know, we did this for you guys, we're out on the road, we're too busy to do this right now. We can't just go into a studio and rerecord this."

Stone We couldn't get their management to talk to us. They were like, "F— you, dude, take the song." Not from Les, but from the management. So I actually went down to Irvine and went backstage and found Les at this concert, and I was like "You have to record it." I got in his face. And he was like, "I'm on tour. I can't."

Claypool So they just sped it up and I redid my vocals. I believe I was playing Red Rocks [in Morrison, Colo.] and they sent one of their old high school chums up with a handheld tape recorder, and I just did my vocals into that.

Stone It was really awesome he did it.

I really enjoyed that episode, and the continuing storyline. Gerald's smug smile at the parent-school meeting was great.

‘South Park’: After Two Decades, It’s Still by the Seat of Their Pants
By DAVE ITZKOFFSEPT. 21, 2016

Quote:
She tried to make herself sound as confident that the current episode would be completed under deadline.

“There’s always a moment where Trey will fall in love with the show, and the pages start flowing,” she said. “Something will happen.”

“Member Berries” was broadcast at 10 p.m. on Sept. 14, but hardly without last-minute incident. That morning, South Park Studios suffered a system crash, and the episode’s audio went missing for an hour and a half.

When the episode was transmitted to Comedy Central, it had a mystery six-frame sync problem that was finally fixed and delivered one hour before airtime.
