it was such a huge hit, i can see a proper sequel but i want Green to come back. He even said he had written something, thinking of using the boyfriend more in this one.

Ill be revisiting most of the films from Halloween. Kinda wanted to do it before the new one, and im listening to the Halloweenies podcast as well, so its going to be fun.

Halloween H20.

I think this is the first one i saw in a theatre. I was so fucking stocked back then, there were rumors about Carpenter coming back, and Kevin Williamson writing. It turned out different, but its still a strong entry in the franchise, with a pretty cool opening scene and a very good performance of Jamie Lee Curtis.
Kinda cool what they do with Laurie here, making her disappear and faking his death. Wish they made more connection to the previous films though.

The main problem here is Michael, he is not a force here, the mask is awful and there is barely gore and violence. Its too PG13. Too tidy.
But, the last scene is cool.

This film and H2O were such major letdowns for me.

Especially with Williamson involved, I felt that H2O had the potential to do something really interesting with the franchise. Maybe take the meta-horror route of Scream or New Nightmare, which could’ve been really cool and fresh — especially since that was a fairly novel idea at the time.

What we got instead was a mediocre (at best), routine slasher with virtually no distinguishing features other than a decent performance from Jamie Lee Curtis.

That said, I do feel that the film benefits from following the Curse of Thorn stuff, because lord knows anything would’ve been better than that shit.

Williamson first draft was actually a direct sequel, and they even named Laurie's daughter. I think mainly the story is fine, but its too polish. Too PG13. Michael is not scary at all, he actually dont kill a lot of folks and his obsession here is Laurie.

Halloween (2018).

I had such a joy watching this one in the big screen. This was my second view and i should had watch it after the original, but i wanted to see it anyway.
It sure holds up. The movie looks stunning, with some of the best sequences from the whole franchise, specially the father and son one when Michael escapes and Michael's killing spree in Haddonfield. Jamie Lee Curtis kills it being Laurie, such a different performance from H20, still compelling, making a lot of sense as a deranged and obsessed Laurie...but i would say the star here is The Shape again. Its menacing, violent, relentless.

Such a great slasher movie.

The only good sequel outside of Zombie's films, IMO. I usually rewatch it every fall.

Halloween II (1981).

I love the setting, the story starting moments after the first one, the hospital set, that everything happens in the same night. Its really cool and its very well done, along with Michael´s POV and some cool and gruesome deaths. Im still on the fence with the whole Michael is Laurie´s brother. Im not sure we needed a backstory....im more interested in the druid stuff if we needed one..But i prefer Michael to be a mystery, a killing machine.

A very strong sequel i feel it doesnt get the love it deserves.

Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers.

It kinda starts alright, with Michael and Loomis alive after what happened in the hospital. But right after that setting, it all falls aparts basically because Dwight Little doesnt know how to frame shit. Pretty much every death scene is awful, the cuts make no sense at all and after Michael arrives Haddonfeld nothing makes sense anymore.
The ending is so fucking cool though, with little kid Jamie (Danielle Harris always amazing) following Myers steps...A shame they didnt continue with her as the main baddie.

Overall, a boring sequel with a few good ideas. The Shape is awful, the mask is awful and he is barely menacing.

Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers.

Danielle Harris is so good. She is so fucking talented but damn she good here. Its a shame the movie is a mess and is so awfully directed...because i kinda like the premise and the Jamie story in this movies...i kinda like the mystery behind Michael, the man in black, the cult...but its badly directed it doesnt make sense really.
Loomis here rules too..fully deranged and obsessed with Myers, screaming to a little girl. Love his arc too.

Wtf happened with Myers´s mask? worst mask from the whole franchise.

A low point and a shame because the setting is interesting.

Listening to the Haloweenies podcast about H4 and fuuuck the original script about Haddonfield banning Halloween sounds like a mix between A New Nightmare and Scream but in 1988. So fucking ahead of its time.

Next in line: Rob Zombie´s Halloween.

Ok, im getting back to this.

Next in line Rob Zombie´s Halloween. Im really exited, i remember watching this one in the theatre and fucking loving it, while at the same time a lot of Zombie´s decisions were really weird and hard for me.

Rob Zombie´s Halloween.

Alright i love this. I might love this one even more than back in the day. Its so different...i love the backstory, love Michael as a kid, Loomis´s failure and Michael coming back to get Laurie. Love his moment with her, trying to explain himself to her.

Its so gory and brutal and the uncensored version is so nasty. The rape scene is hard to even watch. The cast is glorious...Scout Taylor-Compton is really really good, and i like her Laurie so much here.

Anthony Michael Hall will star in Halloween Kills as Tommy Doyle.

Thats a cool casting right there.

Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers (Producers cut)

Some very cool scenes, like Jamie´s dream, in a very confusing and weird movie. The cult of thorn enters here, pretty much every character is a maniac, including a very dopey Paul Rudd who is playing Tommy Dole here. Donald Pleasence is so fucking good tough, and the movie looks alright but damn what a mess.
