Just came back from Halloween Ends

Yeez that movie is everything at once, it looks gorgeous and has great scenes, fucking gory, super weird and bizarre, i really dont quite get what they tried to do here really.

Watched it over the rainy weekend... stick a goddamn fork in this run, it's done.

I agree VG in that it just could not find what it wanted to be thus never settled on anything but save for some shots you thought may have looked good this was a larger pile of shit next to the last steaming effort.

i need a rewatch of Ends. It got better in my mind with time, and after listening to the Halloweenies podcast too.

I think my biggest gripe is that it was building on a foundation that simply wasn't there, I have seen far worse films but this trilogy just did not have the heft.

yeah, i mean the storytelling was weird. Specially after the last one...and the romantic relation between those two was super fucking weird.

But i liked that supernatural element to it. It was bolder than previous entries.

I do wanna see it again.

Finally caught Ends on Amazon. Went in fully prepared to like this one, but yeesh. ‘18 ranks near the top of the whole series for me, but it feels like they spent a lot of time conceiving that one and then just kind of put together the other two as a slapdash afterthought. Halfassed metaphors and plot lines that come from nowhere and go nowhere. At least Kills had some funny bits and some particularly gruesome deaths.

Also in regard to Ends featuring The Thing - you should not be allowed to feature a great movie in a shitty one. If anything it just reminds you what you could be spending your time watching instead.
