Go in with the right attitude and it's fun. Just like the other Indy films, it's an dumb adventure movie with some really cool scenes and some really dumb things.

I don't think any of them are dumb movies at all. But there are definitely some very dumb things in 4.

I think they are all equally dumb. But I also don't think they are dumb movies.

I made this thread solely so Joe would have another opportunity to try and convince everyone Crystal Skull is good.

I’ve been doing this thing lately where I listen to movies on headphones at work. I recently listened to all four Indy movies.

I have always hated KOTC. But I have to say...I kinda started to appreciate it this time. I think having the visual element removed might have helped, because when I wasn’t distracted by the terrible CGI and how ancient Ford looked, I started to notice some of what it was doing subtextually, and I liked how Ford delivered a lot of the dialogue. The “You’re going back to school!” moment was great.

I’m curious to try rewatching it now to see if it actually works for me.

Two out of three Lucas-helmed prequels are superior to that movie.

I'd say all three probably.

I’m only hedging because I haven’t seen the second one in over a decade, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen ALL of it outside of the first viewing. I just remember that it was atrocious.

I have a coworker who does a similar thing, but he listens to movies through his car speakers while driving. I think I would totally be down for this for certain movies, either for the dialogue or the soundtrack.

This thread has made me think deeply about that and about Choose Your Own Adventure books, and only a little bit about Indiana Jones.

I try to say "That belongs in a museum" as often as possible when the opportunity presents itself.

I made a tape of Baz's Romeo and Juliet to listen to in my car back in 97 or 98. I loved listening to that movie!

Ok. After much online digging, I was able to find out that Fedora in The Last Crusade WAS actually originally intended to be Abner Ravenwood. However, the idea was dropped during filming.

I always imagined Abner Ravenwood as more of a academic than that thief in Last Crusade. That stuff belonged in a museum.
