Can be about anything as long as it's not boring or obnoxiously biased.

Off the top of my head:

Dark Days (NY homeless living underground with DJ Shadow soundtrack)
Man on Wire (tightrope walker)
Exit Through the Gift Shop (Bansky and street art)
The Revisionaries (the disturbing process of what gets into Texas textbooks)
How to Die in Oregon (suicide)
The Woman Who Wasn't There (the woman that lied about be in one of the towers on 9/11)
Bones Brigade (skateboarding)
Fightville (MMA)
The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (notorious redneck family)
Cocaine Cowboys (Miami drug culture during the 80s)
Restrepo (one of my favorite movies period)

Maxed Out
Cocaine Cowboys

Life in a Day
Ralph Nader: An Unreasonable Man
Dogs Decoded: NOVA
Something Ventured

that's basically in order I'd recommend them, but I'd recommend all those.

Also, there are a bunch of good Frontlines and American Experiences and some good CNBC shows too. "The Card Game," about the rise of the credit card industry and its role in the 2000s economy, was a good one. Though the PBS ones are also available on PBS website.

Also,

Best Worst Movie (Troll 2)
Waiting for “Superman” (education in America)
Anvil: The Story of Anvil (metal band)
Touching the Void (mountain climbing docudrama)
Dear Zachary (WOW!)

You're better off with Race to Nowhere, if it's on there. Superman is full of inaccuracies.

This sounds like it would either be really awesome or soul-crushingly depressing.

I liked them both, but "Race to Nowhere" is not on Netflix.

Also, Food Inc. is great. I wouldn't know if it's on Netflix though.
