I do agree this season has felt a bit disjointed but then again some of that could gel together upon another viewing. The last few episodes have been great and agree the chase scene was top notch. Nearly up there with the little girl ninja episode from season 2.

I’m too invested to quit, but not a fan of this season. It’s lost something.

Yeah I thought this episode was incredibly lackluster. A ton of great set pieces (the BanShe scene, the chase scene, the repeated gag with the beignet guy) but it really doesn't come together in a way that makes sense.

Hank with the dart in his neck got the biggest laugh from me this season

I knew Barry wouldn’t die but did not expect to be saved, of sorts, Ryan’s father.
That scene with Noho might have been the only laugh of the show.
Loved the shot of the suburban street meeting the shoreline. And Fuches’ monologue at the end. Sets up a potentially intense finale next week.
Sally’s plot line, when independent from Barry, has no interest from me.

They’re probably setting up a reunion of sorts. She’ll sink so low that she goes back to Barry to enlist his services in some capacity.

I like that the NoHo Hank character hasn’t become exaggerated each season. You get just the right amount. Like, we’re not in Ross Gellar or Steve Ukrel territory.

I think this season could potentially go down as amazing, if they stick the landing next week. It's felt tonally very divergent: From Barry to Sally to Hank to Fuches, it really is all over the place depending on which story you're following.

But the direction is so strong. Sally's scene in the elevator; Hader's fever dream with the beach meeting the residential neighborhood, and all the people he's killed; the on-set antics of Gene and Laura San Giacomo; Hank's comic relief; Fuches trying to pull together the revenge army, then spilling it all in the interrogation room...

There are so many strong performances and scenes, they're just heading out in different directions from what was previously a very tightly-wound story. If this week's episode ends strong, I think the season will serve as a great setup for what I suspect will be the final season next year.

even if they stick with the landing next week, its the worst season of all. It disjointed, the tone changes so much, Barry doesnt make a lot of sense and he should be dead by now, really.

Its still funny and compelling enough to watch, but a really uneven season.

It's the third season. One of them is bound to the worst. This one seems to be right on the level of the others. The voice-to-text scene alone was golden.

This series is at a crossroads between comedy and drama, perhaps more so than any series before it.

Have we ever considered the drama and comedy are inextricably linked?
