I mean, come on.
I was wicked into Legos as a kid. A few weeks ago, my fiancée bought me a set, almost as a joke. Since then, I've gotten two more sets, and putting them all together was a blast. I'm planning on getting a lot more so that "someday our kids can play with them." Yeah, right.

Which is correct as the plural of LEGO: 'Lego' or 'Legos'? Neither, actually. The word 'LEGO', when used as a noun, should only refer to the company that makes the product. Otherwise 'LEGO' is supposed to be used as an adjective. Thus, when referring to the pieces, neither 'lego' nor 'legos' is correct... rather one should say: 'LEGO bricks' or 'LEGO pieces' or whatever (using LEGO as an adjective -- and one should really capitalize all of the letters, and put the little 'circle-R' symbol after it (®)). This is all a matter of protecting the trademark of 'LEGO' for the company (using it otherwise degenerates the strength of the trademark). This is not to say that I use the word correctly 100% of the time... but that's the answer to the question (it's always fun/painful to read the near-flame-wars that start at slashdot.org over this topic... and generally, both sides are wrong).

But LEGO also makes the Rancor Pit separately. It's $60 bucks and made to fit underneath Jabba's Palace. Without it, my kids just have a trap door that goes nowhere. So now, they MUST have the Rancor Pit! http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Ra ... pd_sim_t_1

So my kids can see AAAALLLL the discontinued sets that cost 3 and 4X the original price on Amazon or eBay, and they can beg me for those.
My six year old even wrote a letter to the LEGO engineers. They wrote him back and made sure to mention that the biggest set they've ever designed was the Death Star. Guess which $400 LEGO set my kids want now.

Jabba's Palace was just taken out of production; Lego says it was just the end of its run, but there are rumors that they caved to pressure from people saying it was insensitive to Islam.

But it is the end of the production run, so it's a win for both sides. LEGO can say they didn't cave, the idiots who think it looks like that mosque can say they got it cancelled.

Are they ever going to reissue some of that Harry Potter stuff? My kid got the LEGO Harry Potter book from the library, and he's hot to get some, but they're all discontinued and super expensive on Amazon.

No, I don't think they reprint stuff. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Why do you Yanks refer to it in plural? I always thought it was lego, irrespective of the amount.

... or make new Harry Potter sets.
But, I don't know if you're right, b/c they released Jabba's Palace in 2012, and that was previously released. They've also updated sets for the dessert skiff, the a wing, the x wing, and Jabba's barge ... probably more, but that's what sticks in my head.
