McQuarrie is such a bad fit for this franchise; his cool, calculated style was perfect for the brutal, neo-noir slickness of Jack Reacher, but feels all wrong here. The set pieces and action are forgettable. Nothing works. I really did not like this movie. Current ranking: Ghost Protocol III Mission: Impossible II Rogue Nation So, yeah. Pretty much everything I said about RN can be applied to this one. I really did not enjoy this movie. The end helicopter stuff looked really cool in 4K (I’m so glad they preserved the VAR), but that’s about all I can say. This movie gave me no reason to care about anyone or anything in it. It looked ugly. The action was sterile and bland (I badly miss the brutal messiness of Ghost Protocol). Once again, it feels palpably soulless and detached. McQuarrie is dumbing himself down to make these, and he’s dumbing the franchise down in the process. I really hope he doesn’t do a third one. |

The bathroom scene alone is a masterpiece of action filmmaking. But yeah, sterile and bland. |

Because its a bathroom right? Yeah, they steal it. I dont think there is an action movie thats so well shot in history. Most of the scenes are stunning so well crafted. |

Anyone that doesn’t have MI2 ranked at the bottom needs their head examined I like Fallout a lot, but prefer Ghost Protocol for the recent ones MI3 will always win because of PSH. His opening scene in that is the best |

I never saw Rogue Nation. 3 and GP were good ones, the other three are lame. |
