Based on all the insane praise everyone everywhere is heaping on this, I’m guessing I will think it is just okay at best. Sigh.
I just saw this. If you come out thinking it’s just okay, you don’t really know shit about movies. I had high expectations for this from the start, and it surpassed all of them. I place it between Raiders and T2 in my top 3 action movies of all time.

Bold statement! Makes me look forward to seeing it this weekend!

Raiders is a great movie, but severely flawed. Every time I revisit it, I come away a little shocked by its reputation, because it has MAJOR pacing problems. A lot of that mid section is just dead. Temple and Crusade are both vastly superior; they really had the “formula” down perfectly with those.

Interesting. I feel the same way but about Crusade. I love it but I've always felt it was the weakest of the original three. At least we can agree Temple rocks!

Here’s a Raiders opinion nobody shares: I can’t stand Marion. I think she’s waaaaaay more annoying than Willie. I would have much rather seen Willie become Indy’s permanent love interest. It would have been cool to see her progress as a character.

Also, I am sad that Short Round never returned.
I agree

I can't agree with Marion in Raiders though she was beyond horrible in Crystal Skull and their kid Mutt was a travesty. Short Round is the best though. We really should have gotten two more Indy movies in the 90s with Short Round as Indy's adopted son.
