War on Everyone was pretty good, you can find it on Netflix. Jurassic World was pretty straightforward and didn't show me anything new or exciting other than wondering how BD Wong keeps getting the nod.
Ralph was well done and surprised me in a few spots.
In Bruges was just brilliant. I mean, sure it was softened a bit with the memification of several key scenes but the only one that was played opposite intent was the scene in the art museum. I was so happy when I saw it as one of the options on the flight this morning. My wife was trying to sleep but I kept laughing and shaking her and the scenes on the screen were not at all helpful as to why I was laughing. I think my favorite parts were the scene when they were talking about the old lollipop man who knew karate and then the two callbacks later in the film where he punches that Canadian lady with the bottle ("Bottle!" *wham*) and when he karate chops the midget, "You don't know karate!"
Oh and "You're an inanimate fucking object!" "I apologize for calling you an inanimate object."
B - I'm sorry I recommended the Sheets book to you. It sounded like what you were asking for a few months ago but after I read it I realized the blurb was hyping the story up just a bit.

I don't remember you recommending it. Is it a graphic novel? I don't think my kid will read it if it's not. He loves graphic novels about awkward tween girls. I don't know why.

what did you think about moonglow, mr. champion?
I should probably start by saying that I love Chabon's writing. Even when I don't always love the storylines, his prose seems to pull me in.
As for the story itself, I felt certain storylines very compelling, especially any retelling of his grandfather's war experiences. Parts of it slowed significantly at the end, and I definitely rushed a little bit towards the conclusion. The family dynamics at play felt very genuine, and I really liked the way this book was able to express grief and sadness.

Chabon's on my list for 2019. And I've been promising my brother in law that I'd read the Wheel of Time books for three years now so I gotta fit those in too.
I just have one more book to finish for my Goodreads challenge. I should be able to get it done before the 31st, I'm about halfway through it now.

Nope. But I knew I wouldn't. Especially once I realized I was only movies watched FOR THE FIRST TIME in 2018 were allowed. I watched 50 movies this year but a lot of them were repeat viewings.
There was never a chance I was gonna come close in the book category. I'm actually surprised I got to 24. My Goodreads goal this year was like 14, I think.
This is actually my post about this on Jan 5th when I decided to participate in this thread/challenge.

There is zero chance that I'll read 50 books this year. But I'll go ahead and try to keep track of the books I do read here. I might get to 50 movies. But probably not. We'll see.
