Well the past few episodes have taken on a of level bat shit over the topness that would make a Mexican telanovela or American Horror Story proud. Can't really take it seriously anymore but the Norman Bates character is interesting enough to see how the season plays out.
Not so sure I'm gonna last all the way through this season. I still like the weird relationship between Norma and Norman, but the rest of the plot leaves a lot to be desired. I think they are trying to throw too much shit into the plot. I would prefer a "slow burn" and more focus on Norman's mental state.
My wife really doesn't like Vera Farmiga as Norma. I think she has done a decent enough job, but I'll be honest and say I haven't been blown away by her either.
It'll be interesting to see if Freddie Highmore's (Norman) performance will be enough to carry me through to the end of season. He's pretty great.

Well it finished out strong. The last scene of the last two episodes with the Norma hallucinations were fantastic and I loved Norman's glance at the camera to close the season. I'm looking forward to seeing where it will be going next year. I'm sure the producers have a timeline how long they want the series to run now that it's a success and they have two lead actors who are very good in their roles. I really hope they can pace it just right without Norman going full on psycho until the end but not loading it with filler too. At least there is still plenty to work in and remain faithfull to the film's plot.
Anyone still watching this? I kinda lost interest halfway through the first season, but I'm thinking about binge watching to get caught up for the third season. My friends say Season 2 was way better than the first.

I agree. Vera Farmiga has gotten a lot of attention as Norma, deservedly, but Freddie Highmore is nailing it too in a role that hasn't been as scene chewing (yet).

The looks he gives are perfect. The look he gave Norma when she was crying and hugging her brother.
Then the putting on the nightgown and making breakfast. Man

Season is in the books. Plenty of filler and auxiliary plotlines that didn't play into the Norma/Norman story but when it was good it was really good. I'm sure I'll be back next season.
