The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Holden is also a psychopath? I mean I think there have been some hints about this throughout the show. And he got some sort of panic attack at the end? Maybe he at some level realized this, if not rationally, at least emotionally. Anyways I think we might learn more about his background in the next season.
Not at all. He is a guy who begins to realize he shares humanity with psychopaths. He can recognize some of his own impulses in them. This makes him very uncomfortable. He begins to question why he is so obsessed with this work, why he is putting himself in these situations. He is not a psycho; recognizing yourself in psychos is challenging and discomforting. And, in his case, alienating (hence the scene where he is moving among other people in shadows, disconnected, searching, only to find someone he is close to may be slipping away from him).

Started this yesterday and now about halfway through. I have a lot of thoughts on this so far. Don't know where to begin and I don't really want to discuss it until I finish, for obvious reasons.
I'll say this, though. That actor plays Kemper in a very unsettling way. My wife does not watch this show but came home while I was watching one of his interviews. I paused the show while we caught up on each other's days, all while that giant monster was in freeze frame on screen. Even without her hearing a bit of dialogue, I could tell the mere image of him made her feel uneasy on instinct. That guy makes my skin crawl.

What a great show. So much I want to talk about. But mainly this:
The evil and the absurdity inherent in pathology is out there, no escaping it. Criminality is a response to something wrong with society, like Durkheim via Holden’s GF says. We can approach it any number of ways, with the four members of the unit representing some of the main archetypal ways of responding:
Gregg completely blushes in the face of it.
Carr looks at it from a distance, clinically
Tench represses the hell out of it
Holden looks it in the eye and speaks it’s language with a sociopath’s penchant for mimicry and blamelessness.
It’s so interesting how Holden goes after the principal for behavior that is weird but not necessarily deviant (yet), while at the same time constantly engaging his interviewees with methods that are weird but not necessarily deviant (yet.)

This is a good observation. There are so many subtle lines this show is constantly toeing. God it's so good.

I agree with you 100% that the really interesting themes don't start showing up until the end. I don't agree with anyone who says the ending was a WTF moment, though. I didn't see this going any other way for Holden.

Most of the "wft" reaction I've seen has been regarding the BTK setup (and lack of answers) than Holden's journey. Either way, I'm with you. Holden's journey really couldn't have played out any other way.
Turned this off after the first ep. What kind of person goes to an underground protopunk concert and then puts on a Frampton record when she gets home?
