this shit better not be considered canon.
I wondered how you would react to the "non-pony" elements of the film.
I cant imagine this will be canon, although the alicorn wings on twilight lead me to believe they really are trying to keep this in universe. It's weird that no toys are out yet. Hasbro really is not a bright company sometimes.
while it's a persona that is fun to play into a bit....no. I dont watch the show ever on my own. I dont sit in my living room lining up ponies and acting out scenes. I dont have the My Little Pony app on my phone. Only with my kids. Since I was little I have always been a completist of sorts, be it he-man, transformers, ninja turtles, jurassic park, baseball cards, etc. Hell, I want someone to buy the Pearl Jam Vault release on vinyl even though I know full well I'll never listen to it, just so i HAVE it. And a lot of the personality flaw has translated to fatherhood... and the toy purchases that go with it. I want to get my hands on any thing that I can in the lines that I buy for my daughter. Before ponies it was all the "little people." So no, I am not a Brony, but I can acknowledge that it is not an awful show. Bright vibrant animation and catchy songs.

Review?
Well, I saw honest to goodness Bronys there, which was really creepy.
It was pretty much exactly what Id expect. Upbeat with a positive message. Catchy songs, and an adequate but entirely predictable story. Only an hour and 12 minutes, which meant it wasnt long enough to get annoying. My daughter really loved it, especially since I kept it as a surprise. She didnt know what we were seeing until it started.
