Wow, an unusually good Simpsons last night. Tod Flanders, with lingering grief over his mother, questioned his faith. The resolution was a little too tidy but it was still the strongest episode in a while (seasons?).

Thanks for this! I was nine. My dad was a big fan of the shorts on Tracey Ullman, so we watched this. Went to school the next day and recited little bits with my buddies.

I remember watching the pilot too and how huge, and controversial, it was the first half season.
