I think you might be dead to me.

When I woke up today, I never expected to have alienated both dimejinky and loathedvermin. I guess I've got some real soul searching to do.

Weird thing is you’ve just annoyed the same person. Multiple accounts for the win!

He sure is! And Spielberg is overseeing it. What could possibly go wrong?

Probably the same way All the Money in the World got Ridley Scott a Best Director Golden Globe nod.

The same way people can be out on a movie based on a magazine cover.

So you say they hate the movie because of the trailers? I can get that.

Have there been any screenings at all for this yet? Test screenings? Press screenings?

I have no idea. I can tell you that based on that first teaser or whatever, I have zero interest in this movie. I also never read the book. Maybe that would get me more excited, I don't know.

You should read some excerpts and see if it grabs you. There's been a lot of Twitter hate thrown at some particular parts so it should be fairly easy to find.

Me, I liked it for the 80's references in a Captain America "I get that reference" manner but the story itself was just OK.

I'm sue I'll check the book out one of these days. A couple of my friends really love it. And I've heard pretty good things overall. That trailer made the movie look like a train wreck to me though.

I liked a lot of things about the book (the concept, the characters, the conflict, references, etc.), but I didn't think it was particularly well written.

That's the worst. I hate how many of those exist.

I loved the book. So I'm looking forward to seeing this movie fuck it all up.

I think he would have been a better Han Solo. Looks like Ford a bit, though maybe with the glasses a young Indy.

It’s obvious that person hasn’t read the book or doesn’t know the premise.

OR - and full disclosure, I know that guy - he's talking about the movie which certainly looks like what he's referring to. I finished the book last Thursday, it does not include a giant car race a la Death Race 2000.
