It was a mostly awful movie and had really little to do with the book. I have no idea why we are making #2 other than to correct that ship.

That being said: Fincher and Pitt get me super excited.

I have pretty high hopes this will be good, despite the first sucking. A big problem with the first was studio interference. They ain't gonna do that with Fincher.

I enjoyed the movie - despite it having nothing to do with the book. A movie actually based off the book would have been an infinitely more enjoyable movie however

Apparently the movie was WAY worse until they scrapped like 75% of the movie and went back to rewrite/reshoot the thing. I don't know. I never saw it. Never read the book either (though I've heard great things about the book).

But whats the story moving forward? Are they going to actually dig into character development and the world post zombie war? That'd be fucking great.

The first was awful. They rushed that out pretty quickly i feel just to ride the popularity of the book.

Honestly I have no idea but the original book is top notch.

David Fincher confirmed his next movie will be World War Z 2.

THIS is what he's doing instead of Utopia? Fucker.

Which really just reminds me that there won't be a season 3. Shit.

No? But you should listen to the audiobook instead.
Quote:
Audiobook[edit]

Random House published an abridged audiobook in 2007, directed by John Mc Elroy and produced by Dan Zitt, with sound editing by Charles De Montebello. The book is read by Brooks but includes other actors taking on the roles of the many individual characters who are interviewed in the novel. Brooks' previous career in voice acting and voice-over work meant he could recommend a large number of the cast members.[13]

On May 14, 2013, Random House Audio released a lengthier audiobook titled World War Z: The Complete Edition (Movie Tie-in Edition): An Oral History of the Zombie War. It contains the entirety of the original, abridged audiobook, as well as new recordings of each missing segment. A separate, additional audiobook containing only the new recordings not found in the original audiobook was released simultaneously as World War Z: The Lost Files: A Companion to the Abridged Edition.[22]

A movie is always a better project than a series, bune.

Utopia was interesting whereas WWZ was not.

Though his involvement has me somewhat interested. I hope they do the Battle of Yonkers this time though, or show how they move through oceans and other bodies of water. Or even show how they don't like the cold so everyone migrates North/South to the higher latitudes.

Looks like Masters of the Universe is getting a reboot. But is it the reboot we deserve?

Word has it Robert Zemeckis is in (very) early talks to direct The Flash for DC. I would love this to happen. I can't decide if I should be hopeful for DC or not at this point.

It all comes down to control. If they let RZ make his movie, it'll be fun and exciting. He'd be perfect for a film like The Flash.

Didn't you go on an anti-Zemeckis tirade a month ago? Or am I making that up?

Yeah, who knows where they are right now. They clearly reacted to the BVS backlash by brutalizing Suicide Squad, and I'm curious to see how they will react to the resultant SS backlash. Very interested to see how Wonder Woman and Justice League come out. Hiring hacks like Reeves and Whedon before reaching out to talents like Gibson and Zemeckis is so confusing.

I don't think so. I think he has a tenancy to over direct. But I enjoy many of his films. I also think his style will work well for a super hero film. If he being to Flash whay he brought to BTTF, it'll be wonderful.
