Spun LTP this afternoon. The weak songs still don’t grab me but the strong stuff is much better than I remembered. Probably my biggest complaint is there are a couple obvious swings for Black Keys “dirty blues rock” commercial appeal that stick out like a sore thumb against the less thirsty material. I’ll give it a few more before moving on, this could grow quite a bit.

Pretty sure The Black Keys were still locals playing the dive bar half of Beachland Ballroom when Lullabies to Paralyze came out.
Also LTP and Era Vulgaris were divisive in their time because they sounded so different from what came before. That's what makes them so great and still worth listening to all these years later.

Also a hypothetical, would any Them Crooked Vultures or Desert Sessions make it far in this tourney? I'd say No One Loves Me and Neither Do I, Elephants and Spinning in Daffodils coulda rallied a good effort.
