Last year at MSG, that version of Present Tense, probably a top 10 moment seeing this band live over the last 27 years for me. It was beyond. Present Tense should stay in. In My Tree is my least favorite of these even if I love all these.

Present Tense shines live. I always get a little tired of it on the record but then I see them live and it just ignites for me all over again.
But in My Tree is not only Pearl Jam's best song, it's the best song ever written. So there's no way in hell it should go.
Which of course means I fully expect RM to vote it out. Because RM.

I got into PJ kinda late. Avocado was the first new PJ album for me as a "real fan" and I always remember their live set after Letterman and the excitement of watching it live. The version of PT on that kinda floored me. Led me down a huge PJ rabbit hole.

no love for Present Tense in here eh?
I’ll say it being the closing track to the Michael Jordan documentary, that was the glue that held america together during covid lockdown, really catapulted it into another hemisphere for me. I always liked the song, but it was so powerful to hear at the end of that, and with everything going on, and it affected America- people were searching for that song. I think it no coincidence it’s what blew the lid off the start of the MSG show last tour, once the buildup dropped.
Think about that, when you are cooing over the latest pentatonic special from Mike in Red Mosquito
