ive been listening to the solo album. its good.
Euphoria Morning?
yes. didnt even think about the fact he had a few.
I wish they were all that good (as Euphoria Morning). Sadly that's not the case, even if there are some good songs out there.
Agree completely. Carry On wasn't as solid as Euphoria Morning and Scream was ultimately what led to the SG reunion. I gave that to a fan of pop music whom was a co-worker and she fell in love with it. I haven't heard A Higher Truth yet. I'll pick it up eventually. Songbook is great, too.
I still think that Sunshower was the ultimate introduction to Chris' solo career. Such a perfect song. Hearing it on the radio back then really raised my expectations for his debut album. Seasons was my other reference point to his solo material and had always been a favorite.
I kinda hate Carry On. There is good material there, but the production is so horrible...i get it, the intention was to make a more pop oriented album, but its just so in your face that it hurts the songs. There are still some good ones, Safe And Sound being the one that i appreciate the most.
Scream is another story...i actually like the album.
I always thought the second Audioslave record was really underrated. That has some really great songs on it and features several that I think are among Audioslave's very best.
Another album i just dont feel that much...yeah, there are some great songs...Your Time Has Come and Be Yourself are gems, The Curse, #1 Zero....but it was kind of a letdown to me. The first album and third are amazing.
I still think the first one is the best one. But that second records destroys the third, for me. I never reach for the third album anymore. I listened to the middle record the other day and was just smiling ear to ear. It really works for me.
What i love about the third is the feeling they were reaching new ground. Its a mix between their sound and a more r&b sound, more loose vibe...the second feels too formulaic to me, too safe.
I can see what you're getting at, I guess. That stuff just isn't as interesting to me. I just want a collection of great songs. I should revisit that third record. Maybe it'll open up for me a bit after this talk.
Really, it's just all about The Worm. I fucking love that song so goddamn much.
I haven't listened to Higher yet, other than that one lead single. Carry On was okay. Really middle of the road record. Certainly nothing compared to EM.
