I think if you skip Fingertips, which sorta goes nowhere and is way too long, that might help.

just heard a song from her new album on the radio. i think i'd rather sit at the DMV waiting my turn without a phone, book, magazine, any entertainment at all... than listen to a full album of that.

He exactly ain't wrong, Ocean Blvd through Fingertips is a bit repetitive. She should have done a fat criss-cross in the front somewhere.

Of course she works within a genre, one musical sound that she kinda started i guess. But A&W is very different than, lets say, Candy Necklace.
But yeah, i get that she could get boring fast, it happened to me and still does, i have to be on a certain mood to get trough an album from her. Once i do, i love it.
Specially the last one.
Also i recommend diving into Lust For Life if you want to expand her sound a little more, or the last half of the new album.
Listen to Peppers from the last album or A&W or Fishtail or something from Lust for Life
I just listened to these recommendations and let’s just say I hope VG never volunteers as a counselor for a suicide hotline.
But that's it, though, right? I mean, you're not going to like anything she does. It's not just about same-y or lack of beats, or whatever, or you'd like a song or two from Born to Die. Or Lust For Life. You just don't like LDR. And that's fine. Why belabor it? Do you think there's really some secret key out there waiting for you?
