Still kind of beside the point, though; the reason I brought up the Buckley situation was to point out that more goes into these decisions that mustache-twirling money-chasing (in Buckley's case, paying off his estate's debts. CC did have a family who could theoretically inherit his debt, but I have no clue about that), and that the amount of trashing and weird insinuations thrown at CC's widow by his fans (sometimes even directly blaming her for his suicide) is perplexing and off-putting to me.

I can understand your defense of Vicky on the principal that no one has any idea what happened, but there's enough circumstantial evidence to suggest that at the very least, she played a part in driving a wedge between Chris and Susan and their child. Which I don't really care about, because I don't really care about celebrities' lives. But asked to have an opinion, mine would be "shitty."

She is very close with Susan´s child too.
It really weird how everyone jumped into conclusions about Vicky being a shitty person. Who the fuck knows. This box set is the first thing its been released and Kim, Matt, Tom Morello and Mike are writing in the booklet. All of them are also featured in the songs from SG, Audioslave and Temple.
Why does the release have to be so massive? Does anybody really need to buy Black Hole Sun again? If he had unreleased music worth hearing, just put that out. It's all the filler that gives this release a Ted Dibiase vibe.
Soundgarden released Telephantasm and A Sides again.
I guess they included Black Hole Sun in this new box because its highly representative of Cornell. It also contain songs like Hunted Down or All Your Lies...
Good to get the live stuff. But they must be sitting on a treasure trove of unreleased solo stuff. I wanna hear that cover album he was doing. Shit I'd even like to hear some of that Audioslave stuff that they played live but never released

They (members of Audioslave) have said multiple times that the band wrote 40+ songs just for the first album. Now whether they recorded any of that is up in the air but they definitely have a lot of songs potentially available.
Also the Civilian leak had songs that sounded pretty different than what we got on the album so the early versions would be interesting as well.
(I felt that most of the songs on the Civilian album were the better versions anyway)
Also I would love it if the box set included some more of these songs:

Rock Versions[edit]
There are currently two Scream tracks that have had "Rock Versions" of them released. The first being an alternate version of "Long Gone", produced by Howard Benson,[22] which was accompanied by an official music video directed by DJ Skee's Skee.tv.[23]
The second track to come to light was a "Rock Version" of "Never Far Away". This version was not a remix, but a completely new recording, produced by Jordon Zadorozny. It has yet to be released for purchase, but has been, with permission from Cornell himself, made available for streaming by Alan Cross.[24] In October 2009, it was reported that Cornell was working with Jordon Zadorozny and Michael Friedman to rework the entire Scream album but then Chris rejoined Soundgarden.[25] No further development on the project had been made between Cornell rejoining Soundgarden and his death on May 18, 2017.

i find it offensive that timbaland was not included in the writing of the liner notes
