Playing catchup on a bunch of stuff from this year. The Action Bronson album is a good time. Some of these bars are fucking amazing/hilarious.
The Denzel Curry album is also pretty sick.
These lines from Tongpo get me every time.
“Bitch thought I was Craig Biggio but I am not, ho I am the number one vato that'll choke a motherfucker out with Mr. Socko A young DiCaprio also, with a more muscular torso”
- Bronson
“I feel like Cuomo, I see titties, I'm like, "Let me grab it" (Come here) Then I said I'm not a pervert, I'm just half Italian (Hahaha) Ayy, why y'all laughin' ? (Hahahaha)”

This is one I missed. I’ll have to check it out.
Smino’s Luv 4 Rent is excellent. I ate some mushrooms this weekend and played this probably 5x in a row. Gave me some real fun OutKast and Frank Ocean vibes.
he's the best ever imo. i'm sure there's more recent rappers that are just as good like kendrick, meek mill, etc. but i'm like an old guy that refuses to acknowledge rock n roll getting better after the 1970s lol. i love 90s hip hop.
there's a clip of shock g somewhere talking about biggie's style and comparing it to jazz. it's fascinating to listen to.
100% subjective, I just think it's pretty silly to call anyone the greatest at anything.
I'm also a big fan of 90s hip-hop but Biggie never really clicked for me. I completely acknowledge his talent, albums just never did much for me. I will try to find that Shock G comment though, it has been a long damn time since I've listened and adding a different perspective to start might prove beneficial.

its a line from a canibus song that everyone quotes on the date.
honestly biggie's not even my favorite rapper, but i think he's amazing.
The editing is whatever, but I learned a lot from this video. Particularly re: the Tribe and Digable Planets basslines. (except for "Can I Kick It?" being from "Walk on the Wild Side" -- everyone knows that shit)
