So I had meant to check her out when Once I Was an Eagle came out; I was intrigued by the Bill Callahan reference, but I never got around to it...

Got Semper Femina yesterday, have listened to it twice (it's free on Prime for those interested). I love it. Shades of Joni Mitchell, Beth Orton's best work, Fiona Apple, and Nora Jones...But it's her own thing, too. Really evocative stuff.

Never heard of her (except for some references on RM), and I thought of Bill Callahan when looking at those titles, too.

I've only heard Short Movie and Semper Femina but both of them fucking kill.

Jorge posted this on facebook back in 2015 and I was hooked from the first listen:

Just listened to Alas I Cannnot Swim and really enjoyed it. (Interlude) Crawled Out of the Sea was especially good.

That album is so gorgeous.

I was broadcasting Glastonbury 2011 on BBC and this was part of my shift. Best couple of days work ever. It's not her full set though.

I've only heard Short Movie (on Jorge's recommendation) and I really like it. But I should be more familiar with it and with her entire career, come to that. I think I'm just going to listen to her exclusively for a while.

I have a dropbox folder with her discography in it if you want me to add you.

Oh thanks, man. I think I've got it all on Spotify, though.

Here's an essential comp that was given away as promo by a newspaper in 2011. Some live stuff and even spread from first three albums. It was my gateway.

'Soothing' is really good. Let's see what the rest of the album has in store.
