New Oils single in time specifically for the UN Climate Change Conference - Rising Seas.
Every child put down your toys and come inside to sleep / We have to look you in the eye and say we sold you cheap Let’s confess we did not act with serious urgency / So open up the floodgates to the Rising Seas
New album in 2022, recorded at same time as the recent Makarrata Project, but this one is a full band album, not collab. Bones Hillman was still with us at the time. Oils confirmed for Bluesfest next year also.

Tossing up whether to travel to Darwin instead of just doing Perth. I saw Powderfinger in Darwin on their final Sunsets Tour, it somehow feels right that I do the same for the Oils.
Hmmm...
Will discuss with the wiffey over Friday night beers methinks.

Ah yes. The chat about gigs. It's been a while.
This went surprisingly smoothly. Sat down with a beer on Friday evening and mentioned that The Oils last tour was coming up and the Darwin idea. Wiffey was 100% into it, all good, happy days!
Then checked dates and realised we already had pre-existing tickets for a festival in Perth that very same night! So it's the Oils in Perth for me this time again.

Well, I, for one, am very happy that ours is a seated event (except for Front GA, which is standing) . I am old and enjoy sitting.
Got tickets for Row A of Section A5, so seated in the first row behind GA standing. That'll do me just fucking fine. Got Seats 3 through 6 too, so only 2 people beside me to piss off with our likely regular treks to the bar!
We are sitting at those red dots there - happy days.

I'm guessing the constant walk past of people will be annoying, but we'll see. If the set up is on the same scale as the Paul Kelly show I saw at Optus Stadium a few years ago then I don't think it will be that much of an issue. There will be a decent sized gap/walkway in front of us with a barrier then separating the GA section. I hope...
Never been to this venue before. Hopefully there's a natural slope up from the stage back.

“I am so pissed off and angry, I can’t tell you,” he says, pouring disappointed scorn on “parasites, layabouts and magic tongue merchants” who dominate the airwaves and the “highest office in the land”.
