My three-year old's favourite song at the moment - remind you of anything?

Just looking at that. If it was on tonight anywhere I'd be all over it - looking at getting out of the house with the wiffey tonight if possible. Need some distance from the kids. :shake:

I hope this admission doesn't get my citizenship cancelled but I've never (until now) listened to a Midnight Oil album in full. Sure, I know the "hits" well enough through cultural osmosis, but I've never been so intrigued as to listen to a whole record.

In recent weeks, YouTube's mysterious algorithm has been pushing the Oils on the Water concert to me and I finally relented this morning and played When the Generals Talk, mainly because the guitarist in the thumbnail was playing a mid 60s Fender Jaguar. Holy moly! That song was really good - and now, here I am listening to its parent album, Red Sails in the Sunset, and absolutely loving it. This is a great record!

I wish I had an hour to watch that show. Glad you’re enjoying it Spenno. Red Sails and 10...01 could be right up your alley.

Red Sails is my fave Oils album. Excellent, start to finish.

Glad to have you on board, Spenno.

We’ll be releasing our first piece of new music in nearly 20 years with ‘Gadigal Land’ – the first single from our forthcoming mini-album ‘The Makarrata Project’ (out late October). It features special contributions by vocalists Kaleena Briggs, Bunna Lawrie, Dan Sultan plus a lyrical section written and delivered by Gadigal poet, Joel Davison.

Looking forward to the EP. The Oils, in my humble opinion, already released the greatest EP ever, so have good form here.

This song is OK. Certainly is by The Oils - so familiar.

It's a fair song that they've done better elsewhere in their catalogue. It certainly won't be a go-to song.

Keen for the ep now.
