But I am digging the Robert Fribb vibe of this new one, would be interested in another record like The Fragile.

Is there a place to buy just the digital version of this? On the website all I can find is the digital/vinyl bundle.

I think everything after The Fragile has just been okay, but that probably has more to do with my inability to connect with the lyrics at this stage of my life.

Yeah the lyrics have always been teen agnsty. Some of them can be pretty embarrassing at this point. It's probably why it was so easy for me to drop 90 buck on the Deviations package.

NIN lyrics or just lyrics in general?

i really cant listen The Fragile in this one. Its just a cool song for me, near year zero than anything else.

Who was it that said they had a translator?

I've heard tell it's on Apple Music so I'm guessing there but I'm not sure. And I'm looking at Google Play and it's $4.95.

Just the NIN lyrics. I'm not really into doom n' gloom lyrics these days, and it always sounds silly coming out of present-day Trent Reznor, with all his success and great physical health.

Just listened to it.

Its ok, not a big departure from anything Trent and Atticus are doing really. Its not what i expected from what he said...its just ok.

To me lyrics that are counter to 'you' sounds silly coming from anyone. It's why I dislike so much country music: WTF does Brooks & Dunn know about the guy who can't make a car payment? So much of it is just a story. Though having watched episode 3 of Sonic Highways, no shit Sherlock. I just like the stories a lot better from an outside perspective, too much "I" in country music.

Though honestly I'm also a fan of a band where their arguably best song is written from a female perspective so what do I know.

Sped up to hear the actual drum work. Also the new Chipmunks track.

I actually like everything about this EP. I like that it's 21 minutes, which is about my threshold for NIN these days (not counting "Ghosts" -- I could loop that damn thing all day). While I think Trent overstated its abrasiveness and inaccessibility of it, I do like that the emphasis is on the textures and the noise and the rhythm over the songwriting, which has never been Trent's strong suit and definitely isn't now. I dunno -- whole thing sounds pretty good to me. I think "Dear World," is my favorite track.

yeah it has grown on me. I still think its not whatever Reznor said it was, unfriendly? not at all...but there are some cool moments and the lenght is a wise choice too.

I could give two shits about the EP, I want to know where the fuck my Fragile downloads are. Support is ignoring my pleas for help and my download page hasn't updated at all. Fucking balls.

Since you brought it up: I've noticed that the pirate bay has not been updating with stuff. Like, searches that used to provide reliable results aren't showing anything and it's timing out a lot more as well. Hell, this EP was released but none of the deluxe tracks (which I'm still waiting on btw). No idea what's going on.

This is probably a result of the more reliable private trackers going down recently; even on the replacements, new uploads have taken longer than normal.

I rarely listen to NIN, and am hardly a fan at all but having read this did interest me because the above described style is what i listen to mostly these days. While I don't dislike the EP, it's a tad abrasive at best but very accessible.

This EP was the first complete NIN release I've listened to since Year Zero. Meh, didn't do much for me. Seems like I haven't been missing anything.
