It feels very Damon-heavy, I guess. Like he brought in songs for the band to add some colour, with middling results.
The Magic Whip feels like a bunch of quirky, cohesive songs arising out of band jams (which is pretty informed by the circumstances in which it was made, of course).
Agreed
every band member is obviously present here and doing cool stuff, even if it's often subtle

There are three Japanese bonus tracks floating around. The Rabbi and The Swan are both in line with the album, but Sticks and Stones sounds like 10CC, or a Think Tank outtake. It’s weird and kind of funky and has Graham on vox and it’s exactly what I wanted this album to be.
Trag will reiterate his opinion 3-5 times in multiple threads before letting it fade into the background of his mind. Standard fart-sniffing main character stuff. Just gotta wait it out.

I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE! THREE! Three fucking Japanese bonus tracks flying around like headless chickens! Rabbi and Swan! The sheer IMPUDENCE! My mind reels! The walls shake! STICKS AND STONES! MAY IT ROT IN HELL! A horrific chimera, reeking of 10CC, a grotesque, shameful leftover of Think Tank! Its weirdness, its funk, like rancid meat to a starving beast! It gnaws and gnaws and DOESN'T STOP! GRAHAM! His VOICE! A rusty chainsaw carving through my sanity! I can't! I JUST CAN'T! This cacophony, this ABSOLUTE DEVIL'S SYMPHONY! It's the catastrophic, brain-melting tempest I BEGGED for, the destruction, the ABSOLUTE APOCALYPSE this abhorrent album was crying out for! I'M SCREAMING! EVERY VEIN THROBBING, EVERY CELL SCREAMING! VOLCANOES? No, that's my rage, ready to DECIMATE EVERYTHING! THE ABSURDITY! I'M DROWNING IN RAGE, A TSUNAMI OF FURY! HOW CAN YOU NOT FEEL IT?! WHY IS NO ONE LISTENING?! IT'S ALL FALLING APART!

Man, settle down
Great post, Jorge.

"Country Sad Ballad Man" is perfection
I thought I'd find it difficult to listen to the S/T right through because "Song 2" has been so horrendously overplayed, but actually it sits right back into context really nicely
