Mark of Cain and Messthetics in October!

Should be a great night of rock n' roll.

I’m considering this one too.

Do it!

Two nights before my birthday too.

I'm mainly jazzed for Messthetics:

I saw murder by death tonight. I wore noise filtering ear buds for the first time ever at a show. I feel like such a responsible adult.

Enjoy it!

I will be at the New York shows (8/9 Tennessee Fire show at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester and 8/10 in Forest Hills).

Was at Newport Folk Festival today.

Lucy Dacus was my favorite set.

There was a big collaboration to close the night with a bunch of female artists who had played throughout the weekend, led by Brandi Carlile. A few songs in they're joined by Sheryl Crow, a few songs later Judy Collins comes out, and then for the last few songs Dolly Parton comes out.

That's right, today I got to see Dolly Parton perform Jolene and it was pretty fucking awesome.

Awesome. She puts on a hell of a show apparently. My wife saw her in 2009 or so. I was at Iron Maiden that night.

*Not a cover. It was always Dolly's song.

Well I’m not surprised.

Whitney’s is great, but I much prefer Dolly’s fragility over Brown’s bombast

I once recorded a cover of I will always love you with a male baritone vocalist. I did the drums and assisted in the studio. Came to nothing.
