With Dave Matthews coming up for the 10th time I decided to look up what bands I had seen the most (I keep track of this crap on setlist.fm). From that and memory, I thought this was a fascinating top 10:
1. Pearl Jam (23) 2. Ben Harper (solo, Innocent Criminals and R7 combined) (14) 3. The Black Keys (9) 4. Dave Matthews Band (9) 5. The Roots (7) 6. Michael Franti & Spearhead (at least 5) 7. Bruce Springsteen (5) 8. My Morning Jacket (4) 9. Sonic Youth (4) 10. Foo Fighters (4)

Yeah, the Roots are one of the best bands I have seen live. They absolutely kill it live and are totally unpredictable. I saw one show they didn’t play any hip hop, all rock. Why? Because they can. Crazy. Also seen them as the backing band for Naughty By Nature and Public Enemy during the early years of the Roots Picnic. Amazing that they opened the show, then played later in the day full set with a legacy act, then came back out and played another set by themselves.
Added Preservation Hall Jazz Band @ Preservation Hall to my itinerary in New Orleans this month, expanding to:
5/24 Preservation Hall Jazz Band (Preservation Hall) 5/26 Soul Rebels (dba New Orleans) 6/16 Paul McCartney (MetLife Stadium) 6/19 Midnight Oil (Hammerstein Ballroom) 6/28 Dave Matthews Band (Jones Beach) 9/11 Pearl Jam (Madison Square Garden) 9/17-9/18 Sea Hear Now (Asbury Park)

yeah, their tour is one of the highest grossing tours of 2021. I think they played 23 shows last year and they already played Mexico i think again this year.
They just dont stop.
I took my youngest to see them in September and they were great. We have tickets to the Metallica (his favorite) shows in Buffalo and Pittsburgh in August. We’ll probably see Def Leppard/Motley Crue in Pitt between those shows as well.
PJ in NYC and St. Louis in Sept.
Seriously considering a drive to Joliet in June to see Ann Wilson w/Sugar Ray and Collective Soul. Would love to see Magic Man performed once in my life.
