Cornelius's Mellow Waves is incredible, and one of the best headphone albums I'll ever hear:

I listened to this last night, as recommended, on headphones.

That opener is a trip.

Every release of his has 3-4 tracks I really like but the rest seems to underwhelm. This has not changed. The below track however is really hitting a spot.

Greta Van Fleet - Black Smoke Rising EP - just heard of these guys last week...
1. Never would guess a young kid could be a dead-ringer for Robert Plant. Do high schoolers even know about Zeppelin? (That's like 90s bands listening to music from the '40s)
2. A sweet roll-your-windows-down-and-rock set of 4 songs.
3. If they carve out their own sound within this sound, and not be a mere derivative, I'll look forward to everything they release. (Heck, even if they sound like Zeppelin every single song I'll still listen to them)

Their single Highway Tunes sounds straight out of the 70s, but my favorite is Black Smoke Rising

YES! Heard Highway Tune on the radio last week and it hooked me immediately . Everything ItsOkay said I'd like to reiterate. I picked up the EP as well. Sounds great. Flower Power also very good.

That band fucking sucks, I liked them better when they were called Wolfmother, and they were pretty bad then too.

Brand New released their long awaited 5th album Science Fiction today, after 8 years since their last album Daisy. Daisy came out the week I went to college, took these guys long enough to release something new.

Here's the info on that new GY!BE album that Bodysnatcher mentioned: http://cstrecords.com/cst126/

Luciferian Towers is the title. There's a short trailer with a snippet of audio in that link, but no track preview as of yet.

That gvf ep is really cool, but how long until Robert plant sues them

I probably like black smoke rising the best mainly because they try least hard to sound like lz on that one.. it has a nice hook to it as well
