Priests are okay, bit of a shtick I feel. But I liked their earlier stuff, like this jam from their second cassette. But I keep forgetting to check out their latest, so I guess that says something about my current level of interest.
Here are some things from this year I've enjoyed.
Mordecai ABSTRACT RECIPE (Richie Records)
The Courtneys II (Flying Nun)
T-Tops S/T (self released)
Thigh Master BBC (12XU)
Bardo Pond UNDER THE PINES (Fire Records)
Out SWIM BUDDIES (comedy minus one) This record is fan fucking tastics.
Oh can we change the name of the thread? I mean 2017 isn't shaping up to a fucking banner year for anything so far.

Dunno if it's gonna be an album, an EP or just a single but Kurt (vile) and Courteney (Barnett) have been recording together for some kind of release. Has the potential to be slacker radness.

Just downloaded the Middle Kids EP on the strength of their song Edge of Town which I hear on Sirius/XM's XMU station from time to time.
Does your station broadcast on SXM? Were you there for the transition? Would you say it's a better scenario for your company than the days of (solely) terrestrial radio?

No.
Is your station worried about dwindling audience, or has it stayed roughly the same? Does it feel it's in direct competition with podcasts? Does it have plans to develop its own podcasts?

Man, the new Mount Eerie album is fucking brutal, but good. I dunno how I feel about listening to this. I fully appreciate the cathartic release of art and music when dealing with emotions, but man, I feel like I'm unknowingly reading someone's personal journal.

I'm avoiding it for this very reason. Been a HUGE Elverum fan since 2000, but this one looks too heavy. The first "single" was enough to send me to a dark place.
