Thanks for posting, I love all three of these. Shades of Carla Bozulich, Heartless Bastards, and The Breeders. I'll get one of their albums soon...
I'm by no means an expert on this band, I think I actually listened to them for the first time in one of the 2015 end of the year mixes but I'm hooked now. They have only 3 albums, but I haven't listened to the first one. The other 2 are fantastic, especially their last one.

GO SEE THEM LIVE! We caught them last year or early this year... don't recall. Anyway, they have great energy and are a joy to watch Waitress is my absolute favorite <3

I feel like they opened for Dr. Dog when we saw them. Otherwise I probably would have never given them a chance - Frances rubbed me wrong until they played Waitress. I was in love after that song!
Same boat here, have to drive 2 hours to catch any bands that aren't Christian music. University of Virginia is the only draw for any decent music in this area.

After my first listen the album sounds closer to Get Disowned than Painted Shut, which is something I've been suspecting since I heard the singles, that's not really a bad thing, but I probably like them the most when they're at their most explosive and energetic.
I don't think I'll like this better than Painted Shut, which is one of my favorites of the decade, but this is still really fucking good. The closer is probably one of the best songs they've ever done. And I feel like most of these songs will grown on me a lot.

That was one of the singles of the album so I had listened to it before. The fade out was a really weird choice, it's like the song ends when it was supposed to reach its climax.

It has grown on me a lot and I absolutely love it now. Song structures are great, instrumentation is great, lyrics are great. Somewhere a Judge is super catchy.
