I honestly have no idea what I want or expect at this years ACL. Its always one of the last festival lineups announced, so watching other lineups roll out give me an idea.
Have you noticed there's a lot of bands that just bounce around to all the festivals? I'm noticing it more so this year vs previous years. Maybe I just wasn't paying much attention before, not sure, could be that I'm just more aware and checking everything out this year. How many years have you gone to ACL? There has to be someone you are hoping for!?
yes! but it mainly has to do with who is currently touring and making festival stops. the biggest benchmark for acl is lollapalooza. same promoter in C3 so there is normally a ton of overlap.
this year will be my 9th time at ACL. unsure what im doing this year. one weekend. both weekends. or single days on both weekends. lol.
yeah. i dream big. the white stripes. lol. or the john mayer trio with palladino and jordan. austin always wants radiohead. shrugs.
who id like to see who have a very fair shot of being there? Band Of Horses, Of Monsters and Men, Mumford and Sons, etc.

Of all the years you've gone, was last year the most mild as far as weather goes? It got damn chilly at night, wasn't expecting that. Anyone you are hoping for?
no question the best weather i've ever seen there. if only it could be like that every year...
i've not been looking at rumors much, so i'm definitely excited that mccartney seems to be the big name, and petty, too, since i missed '06. my "dream" headliners at this point are prince and roger waters (or david gilmour), but they do not seem to be on the radar this year. i've always thought weird al would go over well at roo, so i'm glad he seems to be a lock, though i hope he gets a stage/tent show and isn't just relegated to the comedy tent.
as for bands i'd hope for that haven't been or i haven't seen there- pixies, portishead, alela diane, alicia keys, yo la tengo, jj cale, unkle, doomtree, common, garbage... i've been to enough festivals now that i'm just happy to be there.
