Well the weather last night wasn't great - strong winds and it was raining pretty much during the entire gig. Fortunately Mrs Rangi and I were seated where it was sheltered, but I feel for the poor buggers that were on the field the whole night.
Wolfmother played before GnR took the stage, and were pretty great. Been a fan of these guys for a while and despite the numerous band changes - these guys are still tight and put on a great show.
GnR were around 45 minutes late taking the stage - blaming the weather and stage being slippery, but when they came on - they were tight as from the beginning. Axl definitely has his voice back and Slash and Duff were on fire. There were a few sound issues where we were sitting, but despite these it was a great concert. These guys have certainly aged well
Good to know...yeah Axl is impressive. The last true rock star.
Duff looks so much better these days. At the same time, im so impressed with his career...not only GNR or Velvet Revolver, but his Seattle story too. That guy has been around for ages.

Didn't Wolfmother open for PJ? And the singer sang Hunger Strike with them didn't he?
Yeah...2006 i think.
I want to say it was 2007.
2006 Euro tour - Barcelona, I think? Maybe one more show too?
It was definitely Europe.
Antwerp and Barcelona '06 for Hunger Strike. Bad idea. I think PJ wanted to warm up before the Paris show (the song was on the original setlist), Chris Cornell might have been around at that time but nothing happened eventually. Mike and Ed joined Wolfmother on two different songs (Woman and Mind's Eye if I remember correctly) when they opened in Barcelona '06, way better.

They were pretty good actually. Axl had some vocal issues, flubbed a few lines and was irritated about things at one point, but otherwise rocking. I think the mix could certainly have been better, but I guess that's a trade-off at stadium shows.
