I am a soundtrack fan.

Purple Rain is an obvious classic, but to be honest I think of it as a simple stand-alone album really.

The Blue Brothers is probably my favourite movie ever, and the soundtrack is excellent.

Clint Mansell get's a bit of play. In particular Moon and The Fountain.

I do enjoy Cliff Martinez's work on Drive.

Others worth a mention:

From Dusk till Dawn
Garden State
Hedwig & the Angry Inch
Rocky Horror
Neil Young's Dead Man
Repo Man
Lost in Translation
Winter's Bone

And I've always enjoyed a run through Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

I guess for me its different a soundtrack than a score...thats why i didnt mention Cliff Martinez´s work. Big fan of Drive, Spring Breakers and Only god Forgives.

I can't imagine something like this being made today. The 90s were a weird time.

Rumor is that he has a rap over the end credits of Aladdin.

Hackers wasn't much of a movie but checking out the soundtrack this morning at work - it is excellent:

01 Orbital - Halcyon On and On
02 Leftfield - Open Up
03 Underworld - Cowgirl
04 The Prodigy - Voodoo People
05 Stereo MC's - Connected
06 The Prodigy - One Love
07 Kruder & Dorfmeister - Original Bedroom Rockers
08 Urban Dance Squad - Good Grief
09 Squeeze - Heaven Knows

<Edit> I like a lot of Leftfield stuff regardless, but 'Open Up' on this has John Lydon on lead vocals and is like he is fronting Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and I am fully down with that.

I love Leftfield!

Leftfield rules, but that Orbital song takes the cake.

Just to clarify my earlier Leftfield comment. In my reality Rhythm and Stealth doesn't exist

It's not bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to Leftism

There have been a few already mentioned that I truly adore, so to add a few that have gotten many spins over the years:
Californication
Cruel Intentions
The Beach
True Romance

and a recent addition of American Gods

Some all-time favorite scores would be:
Batman Returns
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Jurassic Park
The Crow

Actually listening to The Rules of Attraction soundtrack now.

The Kenny Loggins LP I picked up isn't as great as I thought it would be

Rangi is just trolling us at this point. Bon Jovi, Kenny Loggins, Villains by QOTSA. He clearly wants someone to throw first so he can take the arm home as a souvenir.

I wasn't joking about the Kenny Logins LP, but seriously - just wait till I get around to posting in the Taylor Swift thread.....
